Welcome to SAFE BANES - the sexual health website for people who live in Bath and North East Somerset.
On this website you can find information and advice on: free condoms (C-card); contraception; emergency contraception; sexually transmitted infections (STIs); pregnancy; sexual & gender identity; relationships and sexual abuse. You can also find all the sexual health and relationship services that you can access across Bath and North East Somerset including those in Bath, Keynsham, Chew Valley, Paulton, Midsomer Norton, Radstock and all surrounding areas.
SAFE stands for ‘Sexual Health For Everyone’. We have a young person's quality standard offered to all organisations who provide sexual health advice and information to young people aged 13 to 24.
Any service showing the SAFE logo (as shown at the top of this page) shows that services are young person friendly. That means they have to be:
- Accessible to young people regardless of disability, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, locality or financial situation
- Provide up to date information and resources on a range of sexual health and relationship issues for all young people
- Confidential
- Friendly, welcoming and comfortable places for young people to be
- Encouraging and supportive of opportunities for young people to help services to continue to improve and develop, in both what services are provided and how they are provided
